Believe it or not, today was the first Sunday of the Advent Season. Here in Southern California it's hard to believe with temperatures in the high 70's. But one only needs to go to Wal-Mart to hear the Christmas music and see people grabbing up gifts.
Back this summer I did an independent study for my conducting class. My teacher encouraged me to do a choir after we finished the class. Then the first week of my Field Education class this fall we're told we have to have goals for the class. And what is the first thing the teacher throws out there as one of the goals, a Christmas choir! I wasn't able to think of anything else so I decided to "go for it." I must admit the first couple of weeks I was somewhat discouraged. Thankfully, the last couple of practices have been very good and this morning, they sounded like a million bucks! (or at least 100,000!)
I've attached a link to an mp3 of them singing this morning. Keep in mind, there are only 8 people singing. Three sopranos, three altos and two men. This Tuesday we rehearse again and then we perform for the pastors' dinner that is being held at our church.

Super Mark or Thanksgiving Weekend
This Thanksgiving was a quiet one. We had hoped to go camping but between the weather and Erwin's head we opted to stay home and eat the turkey I bought for camping. It was a nice meal and very quiet. Tim went with Marie and the Strattons for Thanksgiving so we didn't even have the boys arguing.
Friday, Mark finally got his much needed hair cut. His hair looks so much nicer now!!! Of course he had to show of with this karate gi, no he's not in karate but Erwin aquired a large quantity of supplies. Don't ask.
And yes, Mark went to Wal-Mart with his karate outfit on. He's such a goof ball.

Fun filled weekend
This weekend was the final APU Football game, which was an afternoon game. So Ken let me borrow his Nikon D70 and I took pictures of the band and the football. Got a few nice pics of some of the Seniors with family. Also took some action shots and almost lived the photographers nightmare. Being wipe out on the sideline when the play went out of bounds. Unfortunately, I wasn't willing to sacrifice the body for the shot. I just knew I would end up as one of Ken's action shots and I couldn't live with that.
I was very excited Sunday morning when I saw that I had received a photography credit! I was very cool! I think he only used one of my pictures but hey, gotta start some where.

Here's the picture he used, number 18 on this website.
Sunday I met up with some co-workers and students from IMT Student Services at Disneyland. It was a fun time with lots of laughter. Including when Tom and Nathan skipped arm in arm to the King Arthur's Carousel. Chris was the only other one to join them, but he's hiding in the back and I couldn't get his picture. :(

So, back to work... and another very busy week!
