Thankful Thursday

Last night as I was preparing to go to bed I was reflecting on the events of the day. I had lunch with a good friend, helped a few people with their computer problems, created different problems for co-workers, a pretty typical day.

I was thanking God for the good things that are happening to my friend and thinking about my family. I realized I should be more thankful for the things I have in my life. So I commissioned today to be “Thankful Thursday.”  Of course, I wake up tired and am really struggling with the concept of being thankful.  But here I go…

I’m thankful for…

…my family

…my job where I get to work with amazing people

…my amazing church family

…the opportunity to plan worship services that will hopefully encourage them to draw closer to their Heavenly Father

…friends who make me laugh and sometimes make me think

I’m sure there’s more and it will come to me after some caffeine.  (another thing I’m thankful but it’s a little too addictive!)

So, what are you thankful.

  1. This is going to sound a little corny, but I’m thankful the Lord found me some chairs to sit on. I’ve had three back surgeries that weren’t exactly successful, and I’ve spent almost two years in a computer chair. I found some chairs that I can actually sit on in my living room! AND, they match my other furniture! There’s obviously more to be thankful for, especially salvation, but this has been so long and ongoing. It’s a thankful Thursday!

  2. hello I’am thankful for having the Saviour in my life and I’am thankful for such a wonderful caring and loving husband.

  3. i am thankful for the awesome people of our book club, introducing me to such wonderful faith driven authors.

  4. I’m thankful for my job though I have some hard fellow employees to deal with. The Lord is teaching me more about how do live for Him and not myself through it.

I’m thankful for my boys, now grown. I prayed for each one of them.

I’m thankful for days off like today that I can sit and not be working hard.

I’m thankful for God-honoring books to read in my spare time.

I am thankful for God’s Word. In there He reminds us of who He wants us to be and gives direction for our lives.

This Thankful Thursday reminds me of the verse that talks about the things we should be thinking on: things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise.Philippians 4:8
