New Year's Eve - Legoland California

This year I decided to spend New Year's Eve at Legoland California. It was a good day, though the park was pretty crowded. Much more so than it was at Halloween. Didn't ride much but that's ok. Here are a few pictures from the day.

Have a "Holly" Jolly Christmas - A little late...

Phil shared this on his blog, but I didn't get a chance to look at it until today. I have to share!

Classic Christmas Memory

Growing up the Bing Crosby Christmas specials were a staple in my home. (Right up there with Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and Frosty, the Snowman which yes I cried every time Frosty melted!) Anyway one of the most memorable Bing Crosby specials was 1977 with David Bowie. The unlikely duo put together a beautiful arrangement of "Little Drummer Boy." Enjoy and Merry Christmas!

Christmas Lights - Day 2 - For Real

Mark and I went out to one of the best couple of blocks in the area. Of course, I didn't take my extra battery so I didn't get pictures of everything but I did get quite a few fun scenes.

Christmas Lights - Day 2 - NOT

OK, I admit it I'm a light weight. But it's just a tad too cold for me to go out tonight and take pictures. Hopefully tomorrow will work out.  Since Thursday night is Christmas Eve and I'm now playing at 2 Christmas Eve Services.  Miss the days when we did 2 services at our church, but this year will be 4 PM at San Dimas Wesleyan and 6 PM at Foothill Community Church in Azusa.

So since I have no Christmas pictures to show you I thought I would share a very fun song from Trans-Siberian Orchestra.  Enjoy!

Christmas Sunday 2009

What a great day! Christmas Sunday is a highlight in the year.  This year was very nice, in that the kids' Sunday School Class did the Advent Candle and Mark got to light the candle.  A little scary, but he did great.  Then the kids sang.  Originally, Mark wasn't going to sing, because he thought he would have to do choreography, once he realized he didn't have to dance only sing he was willing.  Since he wasn't going to sing he was going to read scripture. He did a great job with that even though he didn't memorize it.

I played Mary, Did You Know for special music which went fairly well. (No I don't think I'll ever be completely happy) but I could hear people singing the words.  It's such a great song.

Pastor Tim's sermon was really good.  It was just a good day!

Merry Christmas!

Found this "cute" program when I was trying to get my Christmas Cards sent to Sam's Club.
I think I'm going to have a lot of fun with it!!!

2009 Closes much like 2008 did... except everyone is a year older and hopefully a little wiser.  Erwin is still working for a company in LA down by Dodger Stadium, hates the drive but for the most part he enjoys the work.

I'll be completing my 24th year of employment at APU this February. I'm still organizing the music for San Dimas Wesleyan church (that will be 8 years also in February). I'm almost finished with my master's degree, not as almost as I thought I was a week ago. Seems I won't finish until Fall 2011 instead of Spring 2011 but when you consider I started the program in Fall 2006 and for the most part have only taken one class a semester I'm almost done.

Tim is completing his third semester at APU and doing fairly well. He is still working in IMT for Student Services where he just got a promotion to a Student Manager. He'll be responsible for programming for the group. He's excited about it.

Mark is in 5th grade and doing very well academically. His teacher is challenging him in the area of writing.  Which he is rising to the occasion as long as cursive writing isn't involved. The nice thing is his teacher is going to classes to work with GATE kids and we're working together to help challenge him and hopefully make school better for him.  Sports aren't going as well.  He's still with KARE Youth League but has a new coach who is a screamer now and again. Mark's not used to having someone other than his parents scream at him.  Hopefully he will stick with it, he could be good.

I'm sure 2010 will have plenty of adventures...

It’s a Purple Christmas

OK, purple is my favorite color and tonight we did something rather “odd.” We bought a purple Christmas tree, with purple bulbs.  It’s a cute little tree and adds a little holiday spirit to MagnusonHouse. (Which is SO needed!!)

I’ll take another picture tomorrow in the daylight so you can see just has tacky this little guy is, but I LIKE IT!!!!
