For December Sweet Blessings Scripture Writing plan is the Names of God. This is from December 1st. (Yes, I’m a little behind!)
Romans 8:15-17Names of God Bible (NOG)
15 You haven’t received the spirit of slaves that leads you into fear again. Instead, you have received the spirit of God’s adopted children by which we call out, “Abba![a] Father!” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 If we are his children, we are also God’s heirs. If we share in Christ’s suffering in order to share his glory, we are heirs together with him.
2 Samuel 7:18-20Names of God Bible (NOG)
18 King David went into the tent and sat in front of Yahweh. “Who am I, Adonay Yahweh,” he asked, “and why is my house so important that you have brought me this far? 19 And even this you consider to be a small act, Adonay Yahweh. You’ve also spoken about the distant future of my house. Adonay Yahweh, this is the teaching about the man.
20 “What more can I, David, say to you, Adonay Yahweh, since you know me so well!
I realize for many “father” is not a positive idea. Thankfully, my dad was a wonderful loving man. He was a good man and I know without a doubt he loved me.
Adonai or Adonay as it is listed in the “Names of God Bible.” The NLT translates the word “Sovereign” while The Voice uses the word “Eternal.” I think both of those words remind us that God is Eternal and Sovereign over all.
