What is the Will of God?

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18New International Version (NIV)

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

For my daily devotion, I use Sweet Blessings Scripture Writing Text.  It’s great! She provides a passage of scripture that you write out and you can meditate on it, write out your thoughts, etc.  This year she has been creating theme-based options for each month.

This month the topic is prayer. Something I need to do more of. As I read yesterday’s passage, the one above, I had to smile. How often had I heard (and said, even to myself) “What is God’s will for my life?” This passage gives us a good start on what it is.

  1. Rejoice always – not just when I feel like it. ALWAYS.
  2. Pray continually – If I’m praying I can’t be complaining!
  3. Give Thanks in ALL circumstance – hmmm… not just for the good things in life but the bad ones as well.

Maybe not the answer to all life’s questions, but a great place to start.

By Vacation fun

Starting vacation part 2 yesterday by heading north to Solvagn.

Mark worried me with all the sleeping he’s done in the past couple of days. But today he seems back to his normal self and having a blast feeding the ostriches.

Pictures to follow if I can get a decent connection

Week 4 and Still Going Strong

Haven’t posted much… sorry, but hitting the gym pretty much 6 days a week. Having issues with blisters and bad shoes. But I THINK that’s been resolved… I hope since we leave in a week for vacation part 2… which will probably include a lot of walking…

Today’s email from fitbit had a “fun” surprise…

This is my Monarch Migration badge! For as you know every year the monarch butterfuly migrates 2,500 miles to warmer climates. With the same lifetime miles in your pocket, you’re giving those butterflies some hot competition.

I’ve had the fitbit since December of 2015, not too bad…

First Week in the Books

I worked hard than 66% of the other participants in the challenge, but I worked LONGER than EVERYONE else!!!  OK, I’m a little competitive. The cool thing is I worked out 6 of 7 days last week which means I average 100 minutes of exercise each day.

Now if only my check in at Nurtrishop would have reflected that I’m be over the moon!

I think there’s one more check in left and 7 weeks of the APU Summer Challenge!

APU PK Fitness Challenge Day 3 – Where’s the Biofreeze!?!?!

Today is just one of those days when my joints ache, especially my hips. Not sure why. I did my 3 miles like I’ve done every Monday, Wednesday, Friday for the past couple of weeks. I did increase the incline for awhile, but I wouldn’t think that would have done it. But alas… I’ve taken my “Joint Movement” tablets from my friends at Nurtrishop  Now I think it’s time to find the BioFreeze and let it work it’s magic as well.

Fitbit Steps today: 17,669

APU Fitness Challenge Day 2

Yes, I was up at 5:15 and headed to the gym.

Today was primarily strength training with a 2 mile walk.  I really need to just do a mile and half on strength training days. I’ll try that on Thursday.

Also did a little over a mile and half with the dog tonight.  Total steps for today 16, 311 with a little time before I pass out…

Today I wanted to share a “Terrible Tuesday” Picture and ask… what’s wrong with this picture?!?!?  So WordPress is being STUPID tonight and won’t rotate the picture… so hopefully you can still pick up the “issue” with this scene!

APU Summer Challenge Day 1

I was up bright, well sorta bright, and early this morning to go to the gym. Tried to get Mark up but he was sore from Sunday’s workout. So I was by myself… after I was able to get out the door. When Erwin went to leave the door knob broke. So that was an adventure!

Regardless I got 3 miles in at the gym.

Hit my 10,000 steps by noon.

And walked the dog and the boy a mile and half tonight.

As of now… almost 17,000 steps!! WOOT!

Up for the challenge?!?!?

Tomorrow starts the PK Fitness APU Summer Challenge.  PK Fitness is an interesting fitness app. Either with an Apple Watch (which I do not own) or a chest strap heart monitor it measures your “effort” as you work out. The goal is to be at 50+ effort for at least 30 minutes at least 3 times a week.

One of the things I like about the app is it measures your effort doing anything, including your strength training. None of the other apps I use really does that. I mean Runkeeper you can say you did strength training for so many minutes and it calculates calories but it’s hard to know if that is really accurate.

Today, Mark and I went to the gym where I spent about 40+ minutes doing strength training then walked 2 miles. It’s probably the longest workout I’ve done using PK Fitness. 95 minutes at about 61 effort. And I still need to walk the dog.

I’m also doing the Nutrishop Summer Challenge with Mark. I’ve offered him $500 if he scores more points than I do. So far I think I’m ahead of him since I lost fat and gained muscle at the first check in and he went opposite directions from what he wanted.

Well, Pittsburg just won the Stanley Cup for the second year in a row. So now it’s time to walk the dog.

Two Months!!!

For Valentine’s Day this year, Erwin got me an orchid, in purple of course. I’ve never had an orchid before and have heard they are most temperamental. However, this one came with very specific watering instructions. Three ice cubes once a week. So… that’s what I’ve been doing and it’s made it 2 months! Looks quite nice in my office.
